Eldora has grown into quite a resort. It contains the steepest halfpipe in Colorado, and the only halfpipe to exit into a quarter pipe. Eldora is arguably Denver's closest ski area, only 52 miles from downtown and 21 miles from Boulder. The snow is generally pretty good and the I-70 hassle is not a problem.

Editors Note: Eldora recently added a new advanced area called Corona Bowl. This made the resort much larger and caused it to be recognized by serious skiers. Serious snowboarders are constantly impressed with Eldora's pipe and terrain park.
